Cuckoostone Valley Vineyard
Welcome to Matlock Wines, a vineyard started in 2019 by Pete Walden and Andy Page on Pete’s 1.5 acre field at Cuckoostone Grange, Matlock. We grow three grape varieties: Rondo, Pinot Precosse and Seyval Blanc, all of which thrive in cool climates.
OUR WINES
A bit of Matlock Magic!
Red
Matlock red is a blend of Rondo and Pinot Précoce grapes which produce a crimson wine packed full of dark fruits and sunshine.
Rose
Matlock rosé incorporates crisp white Seyval Blanc grapes with fruity Pinot Précoce to produce a pale pink zingy rosé .
Sparkling
Our first sparkling white of pinot précoce and Seyval Blanc is a dry citrussy wine with a soft effervescence and a delightful biscuity finish.
OUR VINEYARD
Small but perfectly formed
Cuckoostone Vineyard Matlock is situated on a steeply sloping, south facing plot at Cuckoostone Grange in Matlock. It sits at the heart of Cuckoostone Dale on the edge of the Peak District National Park making it one of the most northerly vineyards in England and at 250 metres above sea level it is also one of the highest vineyards in the UK.
